1986 New Wave/Synth Pop Album by The Victims Reissued!

In 1986, The Victims were poised to take their rightful place among new wave and synth pop royalty

Self-described modestly in their press kits as “fast-paced, synth, guitar and drum-based music,” The Victims quickly demonstrated they had far more up their sleeves than the average indie act.

With a combination of brash guerilla-style marketing, touring with their own production, and their own label backing aptly dubbed ZeroBudget Records,” these kids made all the right noise at precisely the right time.

The Victims produced a few 7” singles and one phenomenal LP which was endorsed by college radio stations nationwide, and even Billboard Magazine who stated, “These guys merit a serious look from a major.”

While the original masters of their Silent Dreams recording sessions were long lost, the band’s forward-thinking use of audiophile quality manufacturing not only gave them an edge in their promotion efforts, but physically allowed their music to stand the test of time.

The band received a recent resurgence of interest when a keen listener spun their LP on his YouTube channel. Relegated to “obscure 80’s band” playlists no more, The Victims’ opus Silent Dreams has been meticulously digitized and remastered for the first time ever.

It’s your turn to “get victimized.”
